St. John’s is a kindergarten through eighth-grade school fully accredited by the Minnesota Non-Public School Accrediting Association (MNSAA). The faculty and staff at St. John’s have high expectations for every student and for themselves. All of our teachers hold bachelor’s degrees with a third of them holding master’s degrees. All hold current licensure from the state of Minnesota. Many take advantage of continuing education opportunities both during the school year and over the summer months.
St. John’s has two sections of each grade kindergarten through 8th grade. The average class size is 18 students.
Our parents love our Student Information System (SIS) which provides secure online tracking for grades, calendars, homework, announcements and more. Our SIS is facilitated via FACTS Family Portal. This portal is where you begin, starting with enrollment, and where you will manage everything from checking your students' homework assignments to finding out what is on the lunch menu.
We realize that each child is unique and strive to meet each child where they are, even our exceptional learners. Exceptional learners may need additional help or additional challenges to achieve in school. Through a partnership with ISD191, St. John the Baptist Catholic School provides health care, school counseling services and Title I services onsite.
The core curriculum is taught every day at St. John’s. The core includes religion, science, math, language arts and social studies. Specialist courses (art, PE, music, library and computer) are taught once or twice a week on a 6-day rotation. Spanish instruction formally begins in kindergarten and continues through grade 8. St. John’s reviews and upgrades a specific curriculum on a yearly cycle.
