St. John's School Athletics

St. John’s Athletic Programs offer the opportunity for students to be involved in several competitive fall and winter sports through the South Side Youth Organization (SSYO).

SSYO is a conference of 23 private schools in the Twin Cities Metro area. SJB students in grades 5–8 are eligible to play regardless of size, skill, or experience; some choose to play both for the Chargers and on other youth teams (Burnsville Athletic Club, Prior Lake Athletics for Youth, Prior Lake Soccer Club, etc). St. John’s athletics are dedicated to fostering a competitive spirit that emphasizes the need for teamwork, dedication, school and team pride, and respect for self, teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials.

As with many areas of our school, the St. John's School athletic program relies on volunteers to sustain its activities—particularly in coaching. Coaches may include parents, siblings, former students, and current faculty, with varying levels of experience. Please consider offering your time and talent to be a part of the Charger team.
