Giving/Apple Trees

Grounded in the principles of stewardship we recognize all that we have in our lives is a gift from God.  We also recognize that there are those in our local area who struggle and live in poverty.  As a parish we seek to reach out those individuals and families in the love and spirit of Jesus Christ.

During the calendar year we have specific efforts of outreach.  The Apple Giving Tree is a means to help children and families as they prepare for a new school year.  The Christmas Giving Tree helps families prepare to celebrate the season of Christ's birth.

In August and November respectively, a tree is placed in the atrium gathering area with tags that parishioners are invited to take.  On each tag lists an item to purchase and return to the tree by a specified date.  All items are then gathered and taken to local organizations who determine need and distribute items to the needy of our area.

Apple Tree giving items will be collected until August 13th in the Atrium.  Items of greatest need include: backpacks, 3 subject notebooks, zippered pencil cases, 1-3 inch binders, zippered binders, wide-ruled notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, scissors, note cards and wide or college ruled filler paper (loose leaf).  $25 Target gift cards will also be accepted.
